Just Ain’t Right
I am fascinated by theories within science that just don’t make sense. I’m talking about “scientific” and widely accepted explanations for things that, when you really look deeply into them, just don’t add up. A deep read into these theories commonly reveals competing ideas that seem to explain observations much better. In my world this includes everything from neo-Darwinian evolutionary therapy, Big Bang cosmology, and cell physiology, to the standard model of atomic physics, origin-of-life science, climatology, genetics and evolutionary biology, and more. Each of these topics I’ve explored in depth and emerged from that with a very different understanding of the topic than I had when I started.
I’m curious to know what topics you have read into, causing you to question everything/most/some of what you had previously thought to be true about it. It might be about anything from cosmology to house plants to computers to the best way to jump-start a car. It doesn’t matter. I’m just curious to learn about ideas that caused someone else to thump their forehead. And of course I’ll share what I learn from you in coming newsletters. Send your revelations to drnigh@indigo-flamingo-565281.hostingersite.com.
The thrill of learning something new and discovering new ideas, for me at least, instills a sense of delight that can last for years. And that, I would say, is pretty cheap therapy.
