A long road into the work.

I grew up in Indiana, did my undergrad at Notre Dame, started graduate school at DePaul in Chicago, then more graduate study at ASU in Tempe, where I completed a master's degree. From there to Portland, Oregon, for a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine and a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine, both finished in 2001. I've been in clinical practice since February 2002.

I like to research things, and to publish and talk about what I find. My clinical specialty is naturopathic oncology, though I've spent decades treating a wide range of complex illness. More recently my work has centered on autonomic nervous system regulation — a central and commonly-overlooked factor in chronic illness and the failure to respond to treatment.

After almost 30 years in Portland, I closed the clinic there and moved my practice and my life to Rhode Island. I maintain an active Oregon license and continue to work with patients on the West Coast by telehealth, alongside a few days weekly in-office in Westerly, RI.
